MNB HomeGrown Leaders Scholarship Award Winners Announced

McCook National Bank is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2017 MNB HomeGrown Leaders Scholarship Awards. The students were selected to each receive a $500 scholarship in recognition of their commitment, passion and perseverance as community leaders.

Lance Kelley
is a senior at Southwest High School with a 4.0 GPA and plans to major in Aerospace Engineering. In high school he’s been active in football, basketball, and track as well as National Honor Society, FFA, Quiz Bowl and Band. He is involved in 4-H, church youth group, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and volunteers for a variety of community activities.

Bailey Peckham is a senior at Dundy County Stratton High School with a 3.99 GPA and plans to major in Biology and Pre-Dental. In high school he’s been active in mock trial, speech, band, choir as well as National Honor Society, cross country, basketball, Quiz Bowl and track. He is also involved in 4-H, church youth group and Boy Scouts acting as a Senior Patrol Leader and Eagle Scout.

RJ Tutlam-Hazen is a senior at Medicine Valley High School with a 3.73 GPA and plans to major in Mechanical Engineering. In high school he’s been active in football, wrestling, speech, band, and drama as well as FCCLA, Quiz Bowl and student council. He is also involved in church youth group and worship team.

Katie Kjendal is a senior at McCook High School with a 4.00 GPA and plans to major in Biology and Chemistry. In high school she’s been active in tennis, basketball, cheerleading and choir as well as mock trial, Quiz Bowl and student council. In the community she is active in her church, and volunteers for a variety of youth activities and charitable events.

Jett County is a senior at Burlington High School with a 4.0 GPA and plans to major in Accounting. Throughout high school he’s been involved in football, basketball and baseball as well as National Honor Society, FBLA and Student Council. In the community, he is active in Youth Council and volunteers for a variety of activities.

Justis Marshall is a senior at Burlington High School with a 4.0 GPA and plans to major in Ag Business and Pre-Law. In high school he’s been active in football, basketball, and track as well as National Honor Society, FFA, FBLA and Interact. He has served as the State 4-H Vice President and American Quarter Horse Youth Association National Board. He is also a Youth Council member and a volunteer for many community projects and events.
